E30 Zone

Hi the wipers on my tourer have gradually started to die, lucky the winter is over!! right the wipers work on all but on the intermittent setting. If i stop the wipers they stop and do not return to stop position. If they are on intermittent position they stop half way and dont return. any ideas could it be the motor or is there a relay on this circuit??? help would be appreciated.

Relay is in the fusebox, biggest Black rectangular one.
Could be your stalk too.

put my money on either the motor wanting cleaning out following the guide on the zone wiki, or the gate inside the relay wanting soldering back down to the board ;)

My wipers were doing the exact same thing and cleaning the motor contact disc last weekend sorted them out a treat. There was actually a small portion of corrosion on the disc that was functioning like the plastic notch and stopping the wipers at the top of the screen, wire wool and regreasing was the key
The fitting and refitting is a fiddly bastard of a job though that requires a good deal of swearing, my hands were scratched to bits afterwards too.
