E30 Zone

replaced the camshaft and followers and its still not reving flat out pops limiter when its slightly coldesh just off running temp but once she up to normal temp it just splutters and dies and 4k its getting annoying after the money i spent tanks for info. Aran

what engine is it ?

m40 1.6 injection the later one.1989

Wouldn't expect so, but does it have a cat fitted? Could be something silly like an exhaust restriction anyway!

no cat fitted only near enough a straight through exhaust lol

funny tin is wen i had old camshft fitted it dine the same tin. no diff. i well well annoyed

check for a split in the hose from the airbox....

haha sorry. i mean its still having the same problem as before i fitted the new cam. checked for air leaks all over and none. could it have some ting to do with any sensors or anything?

when it dies, is it like an "rev limiter" dieing or more of a spluttering kinda dieing ?

like a rev limiter, once it hits around 4k it does it. so if i leave off the throttle then back to idle, it splutters for a few seconds then back to running normal , you rev up to the 4k once again and same tin happens.?

have you checked someone hasn't put an ebay chip in in the ecu?

i havent but iv had the car for the last 4 years and its past owners wouldnt bother chipping i dont think as it as a completly standered car
