E30 Zone

Hi. Whilst doing some more renovation work on my engine i noticed the follwoing 2 switches which are located n/s at the bottom of my radiator. Obviously a cable goes to them of some description but what cable is it and where does it go and what switches are they.

they must be some kind of thermostat. Maybe for an aux fan?

is it really that bad... me mate told me it was good. I'd like to put the piccy straight on here but i aint got a scooby how to do it. cheers mule.

They must be thermo switches for somthing, don't know of any E30's fitted with electric fans apart from the aux air con one or maybe on the M3's.

wasn`t there an aux fan available as an option?

what was the aux fan for?

Some hot climate spec cars had an aux fan, mainly US.

Aux fan was generally for extra cooling on AC cars as the AC rad goes in front of the normal rad. AC generally being more common in hot countries therefore it's a hot country spec thing. One would be to control the AC fan the other the eleccy fan on the rad.
