hello all was hoping for some advice on the best way to clean out petrol tank any advice greatly recieved thank you

a long drive normaly cleans mine out pretty good.
i wouldnt mind knowing this myself.
are you sure your tank doesnt have rust from the tank itself.
reason i ask is no point cleaning it when your better replaceing it.

I once spent a good few hours with a bit of cloth wrapped round a magnet on a stick to try to encourage the internal crud and rust out of my tank (accessed from the panel under the back seat).
I recently, however, replaced my tank with a new GSF item, as this turned out the best way to 'clean' the old one.
If corrosion has started in there, it's not really interested in stopping.
Another point to note is that I was changing fuel filters about every three or so months because of the tank crud, so in reality, the cost of the replacement tank isn't too bad when compared to the continual fuel filter changes

the problam with gsf tanks is they dont have the baffales that bm tanks do . premoting slosh

No baffles in the BMW tank either, other than the cup that the pump sits in.

hmmm maybe they are on about other fuel tanks then (it was the guy at gsf that told me)

^^^ Have a look on the GSF Website - £125 for 55litre and £165 for 63litre (newer models) + VAT & Del. Then fit it
