Just looking on ca automtive and ruff products stainless manifolds are listed on there, and it shows them using SUS 304 / T304 or whatever its called. Turner motorsport list themselves using T304 for the new E9X 3 series for the likes of the 335i.

I know that most use 304 or 308 for their SS manifolds but what are the originals made of??
I can weld them with MS wire but then the welds will rust and it makes a difference as to which wire you use on which base metal. You can use a 'higher' grade of wire but not a lower i.e. 308 wire on 304 or 308 metal but not on 316.
