Washer bottle on 1990 325i Sport doesn't seem to hold water for very long. Are there any common places that leak as there's no obvious leak.

Regards,

Steve.

It can leak sometimes around the seal where the pump slots in or where the float mechanism (for low level warning on the check panel).

Do you have headlamp washers?

What's the significance of having headlamp washers Brian? I only ask as I'm having the same problem with my washer bottle. It empties very rapidly without any discernible wet patches to show where it might be leaking.

If the check valve in the headlamp washers is weak (or missing!), the headlamp washers will operate every time you brake heavily.

yeah the seal where the pump slots in is the most likley had the same problem, i fixed it by putting a bit of silicone sealant on the seal where the pump slots in... empty the water out make sure top bit of the seal is dry put silicone sealer on it slot the pump back in give the sealer time to set before you fill it up. id take the bottle out and do it indoors and leave it overnight in the warm coz that way the sealant has a better chance of working. or you might just be able to buy a new seal but i honestly dont know but the sealer worked for me
