Was trying to remove the carpet in the boot upon the left hand side, where the electric ariel is situated and came across this box, which was underneath a carpeted panel.

What is it and what does it do?

*edit* Whilst I'm asking how do you remove the carpet?

Is that where the first aid box goes? I can't remember!
