Can anyone explain how I check the elephants trunk to see if its blocked????

I guessed that but what does it drain??gareth wrote:it's a drain pipe
Drains the central area. The alternative drain path is through the heater box, and out of the air outlets, onto your carpet.gareth wrote:the scuttle area afaik
surely it would drain through the offside wing before it got that far?Brianmoooore wrote:Drains the central area. The alternative drain path is through the heater box, and out of the air outlets, onto your carpet.gareth wrote:the scuttle area afaik

theres not much of a ridge to get over to the nearside drain though......admittedly i cant remember what the height of the air intake is in comparison.e30topless wrote:nope , carpet it isnickso wrote:surely it would drain through the offside wing before it got that far?Brianmoooore wrote:Drains the central area. Too right it does! Almost had a paddling pool in the driver's footwell caused by this after the heavy rains we've had recently. It's quite surprising to see how much crud can build up in there.Brianmoooore wrote:Drains the central area. Probably would drain to the right if the car is level, but any slope to the left, and carpet it is!nickso wrote:theres not much of a ridge to get over to the nearside drain though......admittedly i cant remember what the height of the air intake is in comparison.e30topless wrote:nope , carpet it isnickso wrote: surely it would drain through the offside wing before it got that far?

Soft soap is your friend for this sort of thing.djscottfree wrote:that elephant trunk took me nearly an hour to put back on, bloody thing, there wasnt even any dirt in there ! i was going to give up and finally it popped on was a struggle tho, i recommend heating it up in hot water, or rub a bit of oil round the lip
