Elephants Trunk!!

Can anyone explain how I check the elephants trunk to see if its blocked????

Its located on the bulkhead next to the battery tray.Just twist it off and clear it out,if it doesnt crumble in your hand that is.

And they can be a bugger to refit. Whack it in a bucket of hot water to make it pliable and reseat it as was.

nope , carpet it is :(
theres not much of a ridge to get over to the nearside drain though......admittedly i cant remember what the height of the air intake is in comparison.

Too right it does! Almost had a paddling pool in the driver's footwell caused by this after the heavy rains we've had recently. It's quite surprising to see how much crud can build up in there.

that elephant trunk took me nearly an hour to put back on, bloody thing, there wasnt even any dirt in there ! i was going to give up and finally it popped on was a struggle tho, i recommend heating it up in hot water, or rub a bit of oil round the lip :)

Soft soap is your friend for this sort of thing.
