Can anyone explain how I check the elephants trunk to see if its blocked????

Its located on the bulkhead next to the battery tray.Just twist it off and clear it out,if it doesnt crumble in your hand that is.

Just pull it off, its not screwed in or anything.

And they can be a bugger to refit. Whack it in a bucket of hot water to make it pliable and reseat it as was.

theres not much of a ridge to get over to the nearside drain though......admittedly i cant remember what the height of the air intake is in comparison.

Too right it does! Almost had a paddling pool in the driver's footwell caused by this after the heavy rains we've had recently. It's quite surprising to see how much crud can build up in there.

Probably would drain to the right if the car is level, but any slope to the left, and carpet it is!

that elephant trunk took me nearly an hour to put back on, bloody thing, there wasnt even any dirt in there ! i was going to give up and finally it popped on was a struggle tho, i recommend heating it up in hot water, or rub a bit of oil round the lip

Soft soap is your friend for this sort of thing.
