Rear suspension rattle

While I was out and about last night I developed and annoying rattle from the back end. Firstly I thought it was was something in the boot or the jack or something no the boot was empty and spare wheel and jack secure. Then I though maybe a shock wasn't tight in its mouting as iv just fitted new shocks and spring with new mounts no all is fine and dandy. I had a quick look around last night but carnt see anything the noise isn't speed or rpm dependent just the road condition makes a difference. Iv also checked the boot lid and all panels and things in the boot and other ideas would be much appreciated as its doing my head in already???

If the rattle just appeared out of the blue while driving then in theory it will mean something has worn, worked loose through vibration or become dislodged.

Apologies if silly question but have you checked all wheel nuts are tight? (It's happened to me  )

If you've just replaced the rear shock absorbers then I'd definately check the bottom shock mount bolt is to correct torque more or less. The metal bush through which the mounting bolt is driven has a very small amount of play between the two and so if the bolt works loose somehow it may produce a knock sound over uneven surfaces.

And do you have a rear ARB fitted and are all of the links ok?

I dunno if anyone else has an opinion also?

Probably :D
