i know this is a daft question but can anyone let me know what fuse is for what as i have no fuse box lid! or a haynes manual yet please help!!!! :o:

Sorry only just saw this, here's a coy of the list I did to keep in the fusebox as no diagrams on mine. :)

Fuse Rated Circuit Protected
1 7.5 Left high Beam (relay K3)
2 7.5 Right high beam (relay K3)
3 15 Auxiliary fan, 91C (relay K1)
4 15 Flashing turn indicators
5 30 Wash-wipe, headlight cleaning and intensive cleaning systems (relay K10)
6 7.5 Brake lights, (15A if additional fitted), automatic cruise control, map reading lights
7 15 Horn (relay K2)
8 30 Heated rear window
9 15 Engine electrical system (carburettor engine).
10 7.5 Instruments, on board computer, reversing lights,service indicator.
11 15 Fuel pump, fuel supply pump.
12 7.5 Radio, check control and instruments.
13 7.5 Left low beam headlight (relay K4)
14 7.5 Right low beam headlight (relay K4)
15 7.5 Rear fog lamps (relay K4, switching off when high beam selected relay K9)
16 15 Seat heating (relay K5)
17 30 Sliding roof (relay K5), electric window lifts.
18 30 Auxiliary fan, 99C (relay K6)
19 7.5 Mirror control, mirror heating (relay K7)
20 30 Heater blower, air conditioning (relay K7)
21 7.5 Interior, glove box and luggage comp lights, hand lamp, clock, radio memory, on board computer
22 7.5 Left side, rear and parking lights.

Where's this list from?
I always thought fuse 11 (fuel pump) was a 7.5A

E30 fuse boxes have no information on the lid, except the relay ID numbers. Fuse ID is in the handbook.

Looks like it is according to the link Bri supplied.
I copied mine out of a non Haynes manual so apologies for incorrect data.

A 15A fuse fitted in position 11, is evidence of fuel pump troubles!
When a failing fuel pump begins to act up by jamming up intermittently, the locked rotor current will often blow the correct 7.5A fuse, so a 15A fuse gets fitted instead!
