Changing Starter

Okay, after all your invaluable help (thanks) I am going to assume my starter motor went up the creek when the car got tapped from behind. I am therefore going to change it for a newer one supplied by a zone member.

Seems straightforward - other than the obvious (unplugging the battery, unbolting and changing) is there anything i need to watch out for with this operation - no alignment issues or anything that might catch me out?

This guide rather concerns me:

but I am working on an M40 which seems alot easier!

Thanks

Pauly

Take the air filter/AFM assembly out, and it's easy on a M40, as long as some muppet hasn't been there before and left the thin steel washers off of the bolts, which will make them very reluctant to undo.
