E30 Zone

drove home tonight when all of sudden car shuddered and then lost power and will not start will crank over but no start
aa guy checked plugs fine, pump,fine but not starting told to change fuel filter then buggered off. done that but still nothin any ideas will be helpfull

In what way/how have you checked that the pump is 'fine'?

aa guy checked that it was pumpin fuel and it was he said it was fine , car realy startin to piss me off now

my fuel pump problem was intermitant. it would occasionally not operate but would fire up once it received a whack with a blunt instrument.

How did he power the pump?

two wires to plug at top of pump and then checked if fuel was going to filter


i checked today main pully at front engine loose looks like metal shavings at front

Is this a M40 engine? Crank pulley outer has been known to seperate from the inner.

been told today that is problem as you can move it round and middle big nut that sticks out is not turning cheers for the reply just need to find one now cheers jimbojetset
