engine coolant temperature sensor

what is the difference between the blue temperature sensor and the brown one.

The blue one tells the ECU what temp the engine coolant is at, so it can adjust the mixture accordingly.
I think the brown one feeds the temp gauge on the dash.

The brown one is the thermotime switch. Depending on temperature, it will cause the cold start valve to operate the cold start injector for up to 8 seconds.
The dashboard temp gauge is uncoloured I think.

brown is the dashboard, blue tells the ecu what temperature the engines at..
