Hi there guys just out of curiosity is it safe to DIY reset your service and oil lights?, its a totally standard e30 1.8is h reg.... Or would you recommend me to go to a garage?
Is it safe would it cause any problems if done by myself following your instructions?
I ask because I need to reset mine as i have just completed the service which consists of the following:
-oil filter
-fuel filter
-air filter
-engine oil &
-spark plugs
And if it is totally safe and easy to do how do I do it ?
All help and advice is appreciated
I would like to apologise for the my lack of knowledge as I am sure this has been asked many more times in the past however I did honestly try to use the search function but I did not find anything on this topic.
Regards

Perfectly safe, but use a fused wire.

If you put it in the right place, you won't do any harm - I've never used a fused wire. Just don't get it wrong!

Only reason to use a fused wire is if you misread pin 7 and get the pin connected to battery + instead!

Why spend £15-£25 quid when you can do exactly the same with a peice of wire you can get for free??
