I have tried 3 times to paint the front mtec 2 spoiler panel ( below the bumper )but everytime the undercoat has started to lift .. The panel is fully prepped smooth and grease free but the paint wont take ..does any one have any tips on what to do ?

Also , what is the best way to retro fit the side door and sill panels . should I drill holes and use the fitting kit or is it best to use glue /silicone ?

The kit is genuine mtec but the car is a facelift convertible previously with no kit .thanks for the help

Cant help with the paint, however the door pods should go on the door no problem, when you remove the rubber trim, the holes left by the trim match up and the holes underneath the door for the 1/4 turn catches are there as well.

Similar deal with the back quarter pod - trickiest part is the sill as you have to drill to fit the brackets - too high and the pod door clips will scuff the paint on the sill (speaking from experience here :o: ) Im sure a thread exists on the forum for this - Ill try and find it.

go to the wiki pages and look for my guide under "Fitting Mtech 2 bumpers", there is a link to a fitting guide for the side pods on this page.

as for the paint i can only assume you are not prepping the panel or using the wrong paint, you shoudl also add a plasticiser to the paint to enable it to flex without cracking

your best option is to use etch primer on bumper as it eats into metal/plastic to give good base for paint to stick to

sand every thing off, panel wipe down, use cellulose primer but put a couple of drips of silicone fluid in and stir, apply several light coats, when doing top coat cellulose or 2 pack. put couple of drips in again, job done !!
