Manual gear knob onto auto box

Help or advice pls new member - definitely non technical
I'd like to put a manual gear knob design onto my 325 auto Touring 1998
I understand that it is simple but loses the protection of the button selector i.e can move from park to drive at a simple touch. Is there a better selection of auto knobs so to speak out there or do I live with it -just don't want a t bar at present
