E30 Zone

i know that this engine can be fitted into the e30, there is someone selling it really cheap ( when converted its around 55 quid)

its not a complete engine, but it comes with wiring and ecu, i am assuming that there is no radiator, water pump and so on.

what are the specs for this engine (bhp/Nm), i feel its too much of a hassle to transplant into my car, better of going for the m20b25.

please advise

Not a simple swap, need custom engine mounts, need to beat the bulkhead back to get it to fit, shorten propshaft, change gearlinkage, you will also need a gearbox. Does the engine have the manifolds?

The Generation 1 engines will also need a new sump and oilpump pickup. The gearbox for the Gen 1 engine is also different as the engine uses 2 sensors in the bellhousing, the later engines use a single sensor on the front crank damper.

Yup, most of it is in english, however some of the stuff they say is rubbish

ahah the only reason why i considered on buying was that it is cheap, but as mentioned a number of items need to be modified....so forget it.

btw how does the m30b35 in an e30 feel like? handling? power delivery? balance? would like to know, never been in one

fast very torquey handles pretty well and drinks a lot of fuel.

seriously it handles good, i don't imagine mine would be superb on a track but put a good suspension kit on and it will drive nicely.

i'm sure an m30b25 is cheap but installing in an e30 will NOT be cheap and it's a much heavier engine than an m20b25 with 20bhp less. simply not worth it in my opinion.

i hear you man, anyway going to australia next year, have to sell my car, buy another e30 there, taking up a fabrication and automotive mechanics course there, cant wait to work on my e30 then.
