in a bit of a pickle im looking at my mates 1990 325 sport it wont start i cant figure it out when you turn on the ignition all the dash lights come on as usual and when you turn it over it winds over ok but not firing now i noticed when you flick on the ignition in the fuse box clicks but i noticed that the icv is not buzzing and the coil s not sparking and if you cross a wire on the fuel pump relay it dont come on but i have brought power to check the fuel pump and this is working fine any susjections im thinking its a broken wire on one of the multi plugs i have to still look at these and there s no alarm on the car either the car was working fine up to this we also changed the ecu sand still no smoke if some one could point me in right direction that would be great as my mate has a buyer for it

If the fuel pump isn't going, the ICV isn't buzzing and there's no spark, would it suggest something duff in the ignition barrel? Sounds like too many unrelated electrical niggles otherwise.

well m8 how would i go about checking if its the ignition barrel and where abouts should i look for other things that could cause this prob...its a bit strange that its turning on dash lights and turning over if its an ignition problem

try a working crank sensor if you dont have spark or fuel that is the main thing that controls both sending a signal to the ecu each revolution of the crank

did you remove the alarm and the imobiliserbecause if you did it stops all power to the ignition system when removed.

Battery in the boot? Check the fusible link in the smaller lead from the battery +.
