E30 Zone

Does anyone know the part number of the individual terminals that are inside the headlamp switch connector?

One of mine has corroded, and when I pulled the connector off the switch, one of the switch contacts came with it...
I'd like to repair this properly before fitting a replacement / repaired headlamp switch.

For future reference, my problem was poor electrical contact on pin 1 of the headlamp switch, and the symptoms were simultaneous failure of the panel lamps and the number plate lamps.

Just measured the pins on a spare switch they are 2.1mm so its item 1or 5 on the RealOEM page
part No 61131368621 or 61131353260 cant tell which
It will not be easy to fit.....have you considered splicing in a plug from a breaker?
Soldering iron and heatshrink sleeving job?

Thanks for the mesurement - that's excellent information. I hadn't even noticed the diameters listed on the RealOEM page.

Splicing in a new connector doesn't appeal really - it's probably less work to do the job properly in this instance.

The most difficult bit will removing the old terminal from the connector.
Number 5 has a barb (on the underside of the picture) which would need to be disengaged, usually by poking a special tool / old bit of wire into a hole. Then it would just pull out of the connector moulding, and then I can replace it.

Number 1 doesn't seem to have this feature, which makes me think there would have to be a retainer in the form of a piece of plastic that moves across the terminals to lock them into place. I didn't notice this on the connector moulding.

So, number 5 is looking most likely. Unfortunately I don't have access to my E30 at the moment to confirm this - the E30 is my UK car, but over here in Wolfsburg I conform and drive a VW...
Unless anyone else can confirm the part number for sure, I'll buy a couple of these terminals from a BMW dealer over here and have a go at fitting it when I'm back in the UK next month.
