E30 Zone

Can anyone help me please. I've just started to strip my 318is for a complete colour change, so i need to remove the engine bay loom out of the engine bay. I can get all of the o/s loom out and pulled through the bulk head, im stuck on what to do with the fuse box. Do i need to pull all the wiring out from behind the dash or can i unplug the fuse box some how to remove it from the car. Im trying to remove everything out of the engine bay.

To remove the fuse box fully you will either need expert electrical skills or remove the whole car loom as it is `non removal`.

The wiring loom has no connections all the way to the rear of the car if you make some free space under the dash you can get about 6 inches of free play in the engine compartemnt i would advise you to pack the fusebox in paper and just spray around it rather than strip the car inside to remove the loom its hard work i have done this with my M3 but my car is a total restoration project.

I can see what you are saying would be the easy way but i am treating this as a full rebuild so it looks like the lot wiil have to come out how hard can it be its not as if there are that many electric components on the car.

Wiring loom to back lights fuel pump fuel tank etc you need to remove the seats and carpet and insulation then slowly work your way back unplugging as you go. Get someone to help you feed the whole lot into the engine bay as connectors get stuck in the holes and if your not carefull can cause damage to them.
