Dismantling a donor car last night and while tracing all the obc wires back i have found two wires (thin looms) which run to the rear of the car.

the blue box above the ecu has a green plug going into it on the far right of the box (plug is the same shape and style as those on the instrument cluster) the wires go all the way to the boot??

what i want to know is do i need these wires in order for the obc to work?

the wire that splits off from the temp sensor that goes to a horn, what is the horn for? factory fit alarm??

what is this green plug in the blue box for?

could these wires going to the rear of the car be connected with a factory alarm.

in total on the blue box above the ecu i have 2 flat plugs (1 green and the other black, 1 of them goes to the gong) i then have a circular plug which runs to the footwell at the rear of the speaker. these are ok and I know their use, but then ihave this other green plug which goes to the boot and branches off under the passenger seat. any help will really sort me out as I dont realy want to pull these wires through the boot and ffaff about.

Hi,

I'll try to answer!

You need to plug in the three main plugs on the wiring loom for it to work. The wiring loom has to be plugged into the repay control unit, and the OBC takes power and readings from the Instrument Cluster.

The Horn isn't necessary, and goes under the bonnet, and if the CODE function is enabled, it will sound the horn if the CODE is entered wrong a couple of times.

There small blue plug with one pin connector is for the push-in indicator switch, but this isn't nesscessary for the OBC to work.

The clear connector with two pins is for the external temperature sensor, this is next to the horn one.

I hope this helps a bit?

This is how mine was, and I've probably missed a couple of connectors out. But that's what I can remember. If you could post a pic of the loom I will try to help further?

basically I need to know how many plugs people have in there relay unit.

i have one green and one balck flat plug, black is for the gong and green is for smething but these are ok,

a circular plug like ones found on a pc with pins, which is held in by a metal bracket, this wire goes to a loom located by the door pin that works the interior light.

a large green plug like the instrument cluster ones, wires run to the rear of the car, use is unknown???

i hav disconnected the circular plug and the green plug, so all i have connected to the relay unit now is the two flat plugs (green and black)

if i connect the horn how does it work, whats its purpose, what triggers it.
and how do i know the code or set a code on the obc, i have read the manual but doesnt xplain clearly. please help me its stressing me out big time

also 1 more query, on the loom to the temp sensor etc, i have a small black plug, one pin, un used i cant find anywhere to plug this? its located around by the power soket where the red and white single pin plugs in?

this is confusing i know sorry people

Had similiar problems and posted this piccy of my loom

The yellow plug goes into the instrument cluster, the green plug on the right into the relay, the black into the gong (both on the right of pic). The single blue into the remote stalk, the clear to the temp sensor, and the brown to the horn (Both on left of pic). This has worked a treat and every function works perfectly (excluding code function which I didn't want). You don't need the code function for the OBC to work correctly as I've now discovered.

Good luck mate :thumb:
