What does the blue relay do that is situated with the DME (White) and Fuel Pump (orange) relays? On mine these three sit in a black box attached to the passenger side bulk head.

Cheers.

Will it have a lambda sensor if it doesn't have a cat?

Only if it's been modified to run on LPG.

Hmmm... so what does the middle relay do then as it hasn't been modfied and it doesn't have a Cat and never has done. There are wires coming out the bottom of the socket so its connected to something(!)

Apologies I thought I'd put a date for my car... its 1990-91 (H reg)

Shouldn't be any plain green wires going to the box with the three relays. Plain green is unfused ignition switched live, and doesn't go anywhere near these relays.

Wiring for a cat is all there, whether it has one or not.
If the relay is fitted, all it will be doing is switching power to the lambda sensor socket under the battery tray.

i also have a stray thing wire comeing off the loom below the throttle body. the end looks like its been stripped as there is no insulation, i earthed it and it done nothing but when connected to a live feed it turned the ignition on

at the moment its just floating. any ideas on that?

There's a spare socket in this area for an emissions control solenoid valve, but without EXACT wire colours, I can't say for sure.
