i've just checked my crank sensor resistance as suggested on past posts looking for 540 ohms ish. it actually gave me no reading at all, basically infintiy......is this normal for a duff sensor?

the only way to test a crank sensor properly is to use an oscilascope this will give you diffinative result

If it's open circuit across all three pins, then it is definitely duff.
It doesn't prove it's a good one, even if you get the correct 540 ohms.
