Brake warning light ?

The red warning light to the right of the handbrake warning light on the dash comes on when braking. Am I correct in thinking this is an indication its time to change the brake pads ?

mine comes on and off when it feels like it, pads are fine though!

yep.. break pad sensors... pads due a change !

might just be a faulty sensor.this happened to me and i checked the sensor and the wire had split so i just replaced that and its fine now there only bout £4 and 5 min job

subject to which model , there are two sensors (front and back)

Mine came on tother day and pads wur ok. Changed them anyway and cut sensor wires and taped them up separat. I know when mypads are due so don't won't a tempromental light telling me fibs

Its a 325i, cabby, 1993 LHD..................
