ECOTEK ON E30

wassup people? just wondering, has anyone got an ecotek on their e30 and does it make much of a difference to the mpg and throttle response?

wifey had one fitted on her 325 cab when we bought the car, cant say i noticed any difference at all too be honest !

i had an ecotec once, i wouldnt recommend one

Tried one on a 1987 Merc 190E and 1995 Vauxhall Chavalier 2.0CDX (with Ecotec poo engine!) and didn't notice much/any difference.

i think iirc vauxhall owners take them off as it zaps power, so you may get a little extra mpg if any at the expense of BHP

yep, thats the one that i was reffering to mate.. the ecotek valve... didnt do nuffin on wifey's cab

oh damn that sucks, i was really hoping it would be one of them cheap but really effective mods

The theory behind them is good, and they may well offer some gains; I seem to recall a slight improvement in smoothness and possibly slightly extra mpg on a long run, but certainly nothing to shout about.
But then, mine were free samples so it didn't cost me anything to try them out, so mustn't grumble
