what is this button for

my car is a 325 touring auto and on the centre consul there are 7 switches 4 for the windows 1 to lock out the rear windows and a single switch on the pasenger side infront of the window switches can anyone tell me what this is it looks like it should be there and the wires seam to go into the harness the other is a knob for the sport mode i did take a picture but cant work out how to attatch it

do the switches look the same shape as the window switches.
If they do could be heasted seats.

switch is square it is a push down to lock type when i press it no lights come on dash or anything like that

well i joined photobucket and managed to get the pic into that but how do i put it onto here a nice easy add pic button would be nice but cant find 1

what does that do it dont seam to do anything gonna go press it in a min see if it locks out the fronts

its not ment to be pressed, if the windows have a childs head in them or simular it wil trip and that button will need to be pressed to get them working again.

button will press and stay in windows work with it in or out car had been messed about with by the last owner it had a tv in the front and looks like loads of amps and speakers this switch was disconected and had the wires bridged switch had some wires going to the back of the car so i pulled them out and reconnected the switch . rear windows dont work at all just make a clicking sound so think they are seized up will have a go at cleaning all the moss off the runners tomorrow

I though the little switch was for locking out the rear windows.

there is a switch on the drivers side to lock out the rear windows the one on the passenger side at the front is the one i mean Thanks for putting on the image will learn how to do it 1 day ( i hope )

For the photo - pass the cursor over the the image and copy the IMG code.
The switch is just to disable the window switches in the back (for safety of young children for example).
Does everything work as it should in the car?

will keep trying until i get it as for the switch i have a window lock switch on the drivers side to lock out the rear windows so really cant see why it would have 2 lockout switches

small left switch is the rear cutout from memory. The other one thats bigger, same siezed as the elec window switch is the breaker. click it and all the windows don't work.

the bigger switch is broke and the wires joined together this is how it was when i got it front windows work fine rears just click in the doors when button is pressed will sort them out tomorrow thanks for all the replys sure i will need you guys again soon lol

As far as I've always thought the bigger one locks out all of the windows, etc and the smaller one just locks out the back windows..
Dunno about the switch tripping with an obstruction in the window though.. kind off tempted to give it a try!!

I tryed the tripping out thing on a mates E30 it hurts cos the switch didnt trip and mate just kept pushing the button see how far the window would push into my arm so either it isnt a trip or his is broke as well little button does lock out the rear windows tho
