6 branch manifold & oil filter question...

Hi All,
I think I read some time ago that it is possible to rotate the oil filter housing by 180 degrees to allow the oil filter to be removed without removing the filter housing... Any body else read this.
If it is possible is there any specific way of doing it?
Thanks,
Daniel

remove the feed an return pipes from the oil cooler
remove the centre bolt on the filter housing.
FIT NEW O RINGS AND COMPRESSION WASHER ( Dealer parts only- cheap !! )
fit new oil filter , refit facing forwards as required.
Refill with oil, run to tepm, check for leaks.
done !
the CAPS info is vital, not optional BTW

Hi Thanks,
SO just to make sure. It doesn't matter what angle the housing ends up at? And does it matter which way on the oil cooler pipes go back on?
THANKS A MILLION.

cooler flow will be reversed, but all bolts up fine.
housing best left horizontally, there are locating tabs on the back face so you cant get it wrong

Hi again, soz to be a pain but have turned it by appox 180 degrees, but the locating tabs don't do anything and I am worried that it will restric/stop the oil flow.
This is an M20 325 if I haven't already said.
The car is on the drive so a quick response would be FAB.
