Hi guys, new to the forum & after searching am after advice for sensible mods. I don't want to spend an arm & a leg.
Car is a very straight, unmolested '90, 137K full history with no faults & uses very little oil. Back box on it's way out!
People have mentioned stainless powerflow exhaust, K&N fliter, throttle body, viper chip.............
What sort of gains could i expect with this combination & how much is it gonna cost? I can't have a smokey old Honda Legend coupe pulling away from me again!!
Will the standard M-Tec suspension be up to the task?
Any other mods at sensible money worth considering?
Oh yeah, how many times can you T-cut? I have the dreaded red fade on the bonnet, only noticeable when u get close up & i've T-cut it twice now.
Can't wait for my period Momo wheel to arrive tomorrow!
Fantastic forum & many of the motors are a real credit to you.
Cheers

I have a K&N induction kit, Viper chip, lage bore Throttle Body and a full stainless system. She goes very well now! It's estimated at 160bhp.
I have a 'nearly new' rear exhaust section for sale if you decide to keep it standard...
Giles.

Hello,
I have similar dilemmas at the moment.
I have some mopping done to bring back the red, shame really, but that's how it is!
Might get a Viper for it this month and see how good it is, wasn't convinced on my 325, but we shall see.
I'm looking at a full super-sprint system next month. Will replace the air filter with a K&N.
Might upgrade to 15" wheels, BBS will do, keep it looking original.
Suspension seems fine to me, can be improved but it's certainly good enough.
As for the BBTB, might look into that myself, Ԛ£120 exchange is a fair wedge.
Any pics of your car?

How much for the rear section Giles? Not sure which way to go with it at the moment, my funding is split between the car & racing!

a big bore is a must, personnally i would wait until August 14th cos demlotcrew and aload of us are having our cars rolling roaded!
His 318iS has a viper chip, big bore and has adjusted the timing slightly and it flies up 7k hard he is hoping for a about 145 bhp.
Giles i doubt yours is 160bhp?!
These engines are in a good state of tune from the factory and tend to punt out the ponies at 150k if looked after!
chip Ԛ£50ish
bbtb Ԛ£120

Thanks for all the tips guys, appreciated!
Might wait till after Aug 14th & await the outcome then. I think as standard it's supposed to have 136bhp at the flywheel (are you talking at the wheels figures?) MOT is due around that time so am hoping the back box will hold out that long. Service lights are counting down too & am keen to maintain it's fully stamped history. Engine still feels that strong, that 3.2 Legend didn't get away by much & you would have giggled if you'd seen what happened when it got twisty. If i'm gonna get stuck into some mods i'd be looking for say a 20% gain, realistic for reasonable money say Ԛ£300-Ԛ£500?
On a different subject, if you fancy somewhere new to meet, come down our track for some karting. Two for one on a monday night & good size car park for posing! If theres enough interest i could do a deal on a race meet. Might even throw in a bit of tuition

PS Apologies for the shameless plug, i'd get a slapped wrist on the UK Karting board for that!
