E30 318is front shocks

Can anyone tell me if the shock inserts from a E30 325 will fit a 318is as on the OEM they are the same part number. But I would of thought they would be a harder ride 
They'll fit OK - if its an original 318iS it used the same struts as a 325i
The hardness of the ride has more to do with the springs (and to a lesser extent the valving of the shocks)
If you used 325i springs the ride would be a bit harder alright
