i am confused what you are asking here....
if you check your oil each week then it would have been an inch too high last week too?? having too much oil is not good for the engine, it should be ideally half way between the two markers on the dip stick after the engine has sat for about half hour.
poor performance and rich running is normally the blue temp sensor not working correctly, its located on the thermostat housing, remove the plug and measure the resistance accorss the two pins with a cold engine is should be about 3000ohms and this should drop to about 250 with the engine hot.

only car ive had that the oil level suddenly went high was on an 1100 mk1 golf when the fuel lift pump mounted on the head split and leaked lots of fuel into the engine oil.
an inch over max on the dipstick is very too much oil! thatll be your smoking problem.

what i was asking was how could the oil level rise about an inch above normal in about 1 week, not water so must be fuel i.e is that why there is blue smoke and running rich, plus i put a new blue temp sensor in 1 mouth a go

blue smokes burning oil not running rich. if its overfilled the oil could be getting through the seals and into the combustion chambers.

also if the crank can touch the oil in the sump when running it'll chuck it everywhere inside the engine and it'll be coming up thru the crankcase breather pipe in a mist and burning it.
we can talk about it all night..... if its a litre high, drop a litre out and inspect it? does it smell of fuel?

If the engine is seriously overfuelling, then fuel can, and will, get into the oil and raise the level, but the engine would have serious drivability problems with a mixture that rich.

You didn't check the oil on a steep slope did you?

no it was on flat ground,i have drained the oil and it does smell of petral, what could be the problem with fuel in the oil, fuel pump, fuel pressure reg or leaking injectors

FPR and the wiring for the blue temp sensor through the C192 injector loom plug and socket are first on the list.

how can you tell if fpr is not working had one before and fuel was getting into the inlet manifold throw the hose conneted to the inlet but that is not happening this time, can you cut the c192 loom plug out and just rewire it back to the main loom is that the best way to take care of that or is there another way thanks for your help
