Battery Change - Computer reset

I've got an E30 325i and my battery has died a death.

Went to Halfords to buy another and the guy reckons I can't change it myself as I'd have to reset the computer?

I reckon that sounds like a load of rubbish.

Who's right?

Any help appreciated.

Don't bother, go somewhere that doesn't want to rip you off!

Thanks folks. Got battery, changed battery, all working.

However, my service indicator lights now say that I need an inspection...

Ԛ•Ԛ Is this just because I changed the battery or is something likely to be broken?
Ԛ• Can I get a tool or do anythng to reset the service indicator lights?

Rather than ask a question, it's always quicker to do a search.

I have saved you the trouble.

It's either a coincidence, or the batteries on your SI board in the instrument panel are dead.

Thanks. The batteries should be fine in there so I guess I should assume that it actually does need an inspection.
