E30 Zone

The metal breather line is rusting away under the pass side floor. Can I bin this and leave the breather tank venting from the plastic line that runs across the top of the fuel tank? Or is there a reason for venting it out in the engine bay?

Makes sense to also remove the carbon can at the same time. I see I'd have to blank off the manifold pipe but will the ECU like not seeing the can connected to it. Will I have to leave something plugged in to keep it happy?

I ripped mine out for the same reason, I wouldnt leave it on top of the tank though as the fumes will get into the car, use some plastic pipe and point the end towards the back of the underside of the car, remove the carbon canister and blank the vacuum to throttle but just leave the valve plugged in
