Strange noise

I have a 316i E30 1991, when i pull off there is a starnge noise as if one of the belts is slipping I have tightened up the fan belt but it does not make any difference has anyone come across this problem before, or do I just replace all belts and hope it cures it. Could it be bearings in the alternator or viscous fan couplings
