so iv had a few issues with juddering and brakes failing when braking hard,
i thought it might discs n pads but all seem fine
is there some sort of ABS sensor that could be faulty?
the problem only seems to be when the ABS should kick in ???

im a bmw n00b so dont be scared of talking to me like im an idiot:)
i do have car/engine knowledge tho :)

Just a thought - but you could eliminate the ABS by taking the relay out and seeing if it still judders.

When you say your brakes look fine have you checked the disks are not warped??

I had something like this on another car - strangely enough it was the steering rack  after changing everything it wouldn't go - but when replacing the rack for different reasons the juddery braking dissapeared! :)

From experience, that depends on how badly warped they are.

If you do a lot of braking from high speeds down to not a lot, or drive hard, left foot braking and such, you may find they're only warped badly enough to notice under heavy braking, on the other hand, they may be bad enough to notice at lower speeds and under more gentle braking.

Worth considering perhaps.

track rod ends shot is a possible cause.
