As above. Is it easy to do? How much is it likely to cost? Where do I look for a new one? Colour options?

All input gratefully received! :D

if the headlining isnt ripped or saggy it would be easier to dye it!

I think I may have to do some work around the sunroof requiring partial removal. There's something not right with the bit down one of the rear pillars too. It looks pretty old and tired anyway but if it's going to be a nightmare to replace I could probably live with it.

My Headlining is in a right state, someone tried installing a new one and gave up before i bought the car. Depending what model you have it differs but for a coupe like me its a rear window and rear screen out job. i.e. freakin nightmare if you dont know what your doing. I need to replace my rear screen soon though (heater element has packed in) so this maybe on the cards for me.

My neighbour could have it out in about half an hour I think. He's a pro at that sort of thing....

What else??

Would you mind briefly describing the procedure for removal and refitting to help me decide whether or not I should bother to do it?

Removing and replacing the front and rear screens on an E30 is an easy ten minute job, right up to the point where you refit the locking strips! This is an easy job as well, with the correct tool, but without it, will take about half an hour of careful screwdriver work.

it's not exactly easy all around the sunroof area either! you neede to remove the trim/runner covers, etc., very carefully and patiently so as not to tear the headlining of course.

You can sometime hire the tool to refit the screen rubber inserts from places like 'ladder hire' or whatever it is called now. Well worth getting one to do this job!
