Hi there, which oil light stays on, the check one above the rear veiw mirror, the pressure one or the service light?
Was the ignition on(engine not running) when you tried to reset the service lights?

Happened to me aswell. Theres an oil sensor near the oil filter disconnect it and reconnect it. It must have moved while you were changing the oil filter .

My check control oil light usually stays on for a day or 2 after a change and then goes out. Don't think it indicates any problem.

The switch by the filter is the oil pressure switch. This works in relation to the Oil warning light on the dash. The light in the check control panel is the Oil Level which is related to the sender in the left hand side of the sump to the front (under the diag socket). Therefore this is either level related, of the level sensor has gone down. I'd say it has nothing to do with the pressure switch by the oil filter.

+1
It some times takes a few times being run up for the light to go out.
As for the service lights, have another go, you have to hold it on for a bit longer for the full reset. It could be the batterys in the si board.

10w-40 or 5w-40 would have been better for the cold weather starts but i wouldn't worry too much

The oil level light will just be the float in the sender that's got to re-float itself, make sure the level is upto max and go for a good drive to get the oil nice and hot, that's always sorted it out on mine.
