Cold morning start

Whenever we have a cold morning, which is pretty regular now, when I start the car up for the first time the OBC makes a beep, like the sound when you go over your pre set limit. When I look at the OBC it shows the temp.

So, what's the beep for?

Its to warn you that the temp is low and that ice or frost is possible.

To quote the manual

''Automatic temperature display below +3C (35.7F). Gong sounds and unit of measurement flashes for 8 seconds.''

The most useful of all the OBC functions, IMHO!

Fantastic, thanks!

I was worried because with only getting my e30 in the summer, it's not something I've heard before, and I've already suffered the cold mornings with a flat battery, thought something else was going wrong.

Thanks again
