Heater Matrix Replacement - is brake linkage removal needed

Hello, Ineed to swap the Heater Matrix - carpet soaked. Maybe also renew the Control Valve on the end. If anyone's done this - do you have to remove brake linkage or .. any tips appreciated. (325 E30 ) Is actually Alpina C2 2.7 but as far as these are concerned they are standard bits. Thanks in advance

i had too when i did mine and the 4 bolts for the servo as well as it would not slide out without fouling them

be carefull of the brake linkage bar as it has a oposite thread on each end so as you do one up the other will come out and this bar will also affect how high the brake pedal sits as well

one other thing are you positive it is the matrix as it is normally the valve the leaking coolant might look like its coming from the matrix when it could be just the valve

as gazza said make sure its the matrix leaking before you have the nightmare of removing it
could be the valve!
