Can anyone tell me what is involved in removing the heater system? The bearing is shot in mine and is extremely noisy/rattly. Also i very rarely get heat thru so am assuming something is bloked (matrix/valve?)

Any help will be appreciated

Cheers, Mark

Actually having just checked you can do it all, fan and matrix with the dash inplace. The second link explains all.

There is absolutely no need to touch the dash to remove a heater blower at all!
It is behind the bulkhead panel under the bonnet and easy to get to and change.

I forgot that the heater matrix can slide out

You don't need to touch the heater matrix let alone slide it out.

Replace the fan first and see if it blows warm air through.
If not you could have an air lock or dodgy heater valve etc....

In the original post he mentions the fact that possibly there is a blockage or valve problem hence refering to the matrix removal to check or clean debri that can get stuck here (mine was bogging when I looked at it when I fitted A/C system). For just the fan you are correct removal of the bulkhead panel and plastic cowling/shroud around fan motor should do the job.

I know mate
Still there shouldn't be any reason to remove the matrix as it can easily be flushed in situ.

Hi gents - I need to replace the heater core but looks like the brake linkage is in the way of it sliding out.

Is it easy enough to remove and replace this as I don't want to touch it unless have to.

Core rusty (leaked out via valve body I think probably due to increased pressure for circulation due to corroded core) and it's the final link in the cooling circuit yet to be replace - done radiator oil cooler etc the lot

Thanks -
