What would you use to remove the stickers and double-sided tape 8O from the car so that it wouldn't damage the paint? I'd like to de-council my new touring but I don't fancy re-painting it afterwards.

I used a stanley knife blade ( you've got to have a VERY steady hand and take your time ) and then cleaned off the adhesive residue with white spirit. Then T cut and polish.

If you can lift a corner of the stickers they may just peel off.

Unfortunately my kitchen is ever so slightly too narrow to fit a touring, must remember that when looking for a new place to live.

Cheers for all the suggestions, I will try peeling the unbelievably tacky (pun intended) sticker off and clean the remains of oh-so-cheesy glued on "badging" at the rear with a 3M stuff or white spirit.

T-cut and polish are the terms I'm unfamilar with unless you mean "them Polish" who as we all know are responsible for everything bad in Britain (yes, fuzzy, I'm thinking of you as I write this  )

Good thinking that! Obviously my glue sniffing area where I keep all my solvents is big enough to accomodate the car.

i had a massive dirty dealer sticker on my new hilux peeled off sticker bit by bit with fingernails and then used petrol on a rag. Its unbelievably effective and no damage whatsoever. You obviously need to wash wax and polish the area at the same time. Job done.

Heat gun (used intelligently) gets them off, usually with little or no residue.

Yep, If you do have any residue, Autoglym intensive tar remover will remove any old glue.

How long have they been on there and what colour vehicle are they on?

lighter fluid also removes the sticky residue....

My 318iS has pinstripes down the sides that someone of questionable taste decided to fit some time ago that id really like to remove.....wasnt sure whether the stripes were attched with some kind of solvent based glue and as a result may have damaged the laquer though?

Any thoughts?
(sorry to hijack the thread!)

3M product number08984 is what you want, adhesive cleaner, also good for chewing gum removal, allow it to soak in first.
