advise on rocker cover gasket seal

hi just need some advise on doing a rocker cover gasket seal on my 318 cab, does any one know the torque settings for the bolts when putting the rocker cover back on? many thanks shai

Just looked it up and it says that it depends on what size of bolt/nut is used...
M6 thread (10mm head) is 10 N:m
M7 and 8 (7=dunno probably 12mm 8=13mm head) 15 N:m

On your M40 engine it will probably be the M6, and a torque wrench for that kind of torque won't be cheap so i would just nip them + a little.

1 N:m is about 100 grams of pressure on a 1 meter bar = 1Kg on a 10cm bar like a 1/4" ratchet, pick up a 1Kg tub of butter or 1 litre bottle of water to get an idea of what that feels like

Shai,

you may find it easier to put it under your posts; such as simon the mod has done and I; than to put it on the left of the screen; as it pushes all the page over!

do you know how to do that?
