Hi all,
Having a little issue with my iS, sometimes it is refusing to idle and stalls, or really struggles to stay running idling unsteadily at 400-600 rpm. Revving it a little usually clears it but it is beginning to get annoying!
Any ideas?
Chris

Have you checked all hoses for splits? Take off the ICV from the back of the engine and clean it with carb cleaner. Check the hose from the ICV that runs under the inlet manifold - you need to remove the bracket holding the petrol pipes temporarilyso you can get your hand in to feel where the hose meets the connector. Next things to check are the AFM and the TPS.

i have had a few is's and all have needed the oil breather pipes under the inlet manifold . they leak air and stop it from idling it will drive much better too after replacing them

Without wanting to sound like a div, can you please tell me what the ICV, AFM (Airflow meter?) and TPS stand for? Forgive my ignorance but im more familiar with diesels!
