Hey guys,

Just looking for some info. Will I lose power if I put a 325i stainless centre section (dual pipes from downpipe) and backbox on to a 318is?

I think you probably will but not much. The design of the exhaust pipe is full of compromises anyway, idealy you would have a dead straight pipe with consistent cross section and no obstructions with the length of the pipe set by the rpm at peak power. In reality you have a convoluted path from the front to the back of the car with various noise reducing baffles to disrupt the gas flow and reduce noise.

If it boosted power BMW would fit them as standard.
