Instrument dial lights

Hi guys,

The right hand light (as you look at it) on my instrument cluster was not working so I bought two new bulbs and replaced the two existing ones - even though one was already working.

Anyway, the light that was already working is still working but the other light is still not working.

Is this a common problem? Any ideas on a fix, is there a fuse controlling one side but not the other? (heres praying for an easy fix!)

Or is it just knackered?

Thanks for the help

Dry solder joints on the circuit board bud, if youve got a soldering iron, it may be worth going over the contacts

Hmmm, wouldn't have one myself but my mate is an electrician so can source one!

Would you think that is the problem then? Suppose I could have a go at fixing that alright :D

Turns out it was just bad bulbs :o:

Finally got round to taking it apart again - but not until both lights went out on me and I was doing a lot of driving in the dark!!

Had to remove the orange plastic covers for them and leave them bare as one of them got melted quite badly 8O anyway, all back in action now and I know what speed I am doing at night again :D

Yeah, sure fire way of telling that they have been (wrongly) fitted with 5w bulbs !
