does any e36 rad and fan setup fit an m20 facelift?

ok 3rd viscous let go in 18 months today- granted only one of them was new but it was new and i am sick of them. -
letting the car cool down after it almost hit the red - not too concerned about heat as head is getting swapped on thursday but i want an e36 rad and electric fan setup to tie me over for a few weeks -
at least so ican try electric out.
anyone know if any of the e36 stuff will directly plumb in to the m20 setup?
i'll wire a swithed power feed to the fan for now until ii figure a thermo switch.
any possibilities?

what is wrong with me?
i always presumed,,,,,
well i suppose iwas just thinking rad and fan together would be easier to fit if both from same car.
so all i need is a leccy fan and inventive brackets. there's a good few thread on that in search....
cheers

e36 318is with aircon has an electric fan and no viscous it also has a switch in the side of the rad . the fan is fitted to the engine side of the rad i think it would prob fit may be tight in an e30 with a 6 pot

E36's with aircon still have the normal viscous fan, and quite honestly, if it's reliability you're looking for, then stick with the viscous. More reliable than an electric fan by several orders of magnitude!
The aircon fan from an E36 or E39 will fit in front of an E30 radiator easily enough, fitting one of the rubber mounts to the upright frame on the RH side, and making two simple brackets for the other two rubbers.
Alternatively, an aircon fan from an E30 can be used, or possibly the ones from other BMWs with aircon as well.
Original radiators from E30s without aircon don't have the mounting boss for a thermoswitch, but replacement ones seem to have the boss, fitted with a blanking plug.

e36 318is an 318ti with air con dont have a viscous fan . i looked at them a few times the rad will fit in an e30 as well . i know this as the electric fan is part of the plastic attached to the rad and the thread on the end of the water pump has no fan on it . i guess you could the repace the fan switch in the rad with one to do the job in an e30 . i see the only benifit of fitting is that you wont have a weight hangging off your water pump . maybe it will last longer ?

The fan to use is the E34 or E32 aircon fan as it's massive and shifts a lot of air. Secondhand ones are all shagged though unless you're lucky. I would use a new Sachs viscous AND an aircon fan powered via a relay onto a dash switch fitted into one of the blacks above the radio. Wire it the right way so it pushes air, not pulling it!

hi !
I can vouch for the e36 318is having an electric fan, i work in a breakers yard (combellack.co.uk) and i recently removed a rad with elec fan from the said car to adapt into my 2.5 engined e30. the rad just about fits in but the fan is too deep and the assembly wont fit
every day i look round the yard for a perfect fitting fan so when i find it....
I will be back on here !!!
cheers for now !
Will

dont know if its any help but my 325i se touring has an electric fan with an e36 fan switch. my cars got aircon too.
looking at it all it looks pretty easy to do, i think all you need is the leccy fan, wiring loom, rad and fan switch

E36 elec fan will fit, ive used them on several E30's now.
E32 (alloy case) fan is the one to go for over the E34, ive yet to find an E34 fan that works (plastic one)
