ECU Code for 320i????

Does anybody know an easy way to find out my ecu chip number?
I have an E30 Freg 320i 5 door
Just bought a chip and the dudes askin me for a ECU number
CAN ANY BODY HELP!!!!!

OK, you need to give the dude the bosch part number , should be a 172 for yours, if in doubt write everything down and phone her in M8
the chip number itself can only be found by opeing the ECU and looking @ whats written on the chip label. the checksum of the eprom is listed on the casing however as is the chassis number

Who have you bought from? I'm thinking of getting a 325 chip from
www.chippeduk.com, he sells on ebay and says he would need the ECU number too. Has anyone bought from here before? Ta

yeah i just got mine from chippeduk. on ebay. a mate of mine says hes reliable so all good. i got mine for 55 for an alpina chip
I just gotta get off my arse and see what the ECU number is
