E30 Zone

the car is a j plate 318i cab, its been sitting for best part of a year with a suspected fuel pump problem, so cheked this out and fuel is getting through
Have fitted a new battery and plugs and the car turns over very quick but just doesnt want to fire ! in some cases its trying to but never does..

any idea's would be great !

Checked for a good spark?
Is the engine earthed well?

Has the fuel pump been replaced? If not, either replace it with a known good one, or tee a pressure gauge into the supply line to the fuel rail.

could it be the fuel filter???

i had a frontera that did the same thing took the filter off and the fuel come out black
