Hi,
has anyone got any experience of using 'seal up' in there cooling system?
i've got a very small leak from the head gasket and someone has recommended this as a quick fix until i have the funds to strip the motor done.

cheers

I used this on my old 320i a couple of years ago.Had a gasket leak from near the exhaust manifold one bottle of k-seal sorted it for the 6 months i owned it after that and iirc its only about £9 a bottle anyway so well worth a try imo.

Its only a temporary fix, and remember when it does go pop you then have seal up in your entire cooling system!

Have used K seal, worked well, not sure about the other stuff. I had a cracked head (not on an E30, a Lucida people carrier, they are notorious for it) the K seal sorted it for about 18 months, I sold it as needing a head repair, the guy who bought it told me he never bothered as it was still going strong. If you catch the problem early enough seems to be Ok, if there is a lot of damage due to distortion etc from constant over heating may be too far gone. Depends how bad your leak is, but I guess no harm in trying.

i had the same problem a couple of months ago,but i used the expensive stuff "steel seal" (about £25 a bottle),
my neighbour used it on his rover ages ago and its still in there now,and rovers are known for head problems!
had mine off ebay! check it out on google
mine hasnt been in there that long so only time will tell whether it will hold out!
as brian said if you catch the problem early you should be fine!
mine was mixing water with oil but not at a great rate
good luck
