Considering getting smoked headlights just wondering whats the best way to get or do them?

I suppose if you would like to have the satisfaction of knowing you "did it" yourself, i would go the DIY route.
But if you have a fear of cocking up the whole thing, then buy new.
PS: some zoners will sell you a pair of DIY smoked ones, just another option.

the only concern i'd have is that quite often the aftermarket lamps have pretty bad quality projectors in them, which may mean DIY is a better approach

Getting the glass of using a heat gun is not much fun, danger of burns and little bits of glass flying around. I gave up and stuck mine back on the car. It can be done, just not a nice job.

i got the original hella lights
but the things come with such rubbish plastic adjuster bits they break and remaking the adjusters out of bits n pieces you find off the old light sis annoying too.

I had to buy a heatgun to do mine so while i was in B&Q i bought some thermal gloves too... that was a few quid well spent as you need to get them quite hot.


Mine took about a day to do and i played it safe by buying a 2nd set of headlamps from Eko on here, mine were held together with tie wraps no wonder they wobbled about a bit, and i managed to make a good set out of the pair.

If i do it again i will do things differently, especially with the cross-haire's.
