E30 Zone

I'm looking for a spare fused output in the fusebox to power electric seats I'm fitting in my Touring.

I don't have a wiring diagram so am hoping somebody better prepared can point me in the right direction and identify one - I need 10A but presume any spares will do providing I fit the right fuse. It must be live only with the ignition on.

Seat heating fuse should fit the bill (assuming that your power seats aren't heated as well!)
Fuse 16 is the one you want, but check that the outer terminal is present in the fusebox. I'd be very surprised if it was missing on a touring, but some lesser models didn't always have it and it's wiring fitted.
The other end of the wire is at the accessories socket at the back of the glovebox. The pin you want is the second from the right on the top row, and will have a white/brown wire going to it.

Sorry to sound a numpty but is this the accessories plug - seen from the top of the glovebox and underneath the ECU?



If so, do I have the correct brown/white wire and is there a plug to connect to or shall I just splice into it?

Accessories socket is the one on the right of the two in your pic. Terminal you want is on the top row, above the white/black wire.
Best to find a plug to fit if you can from a scrap loom, although you may have to trim the plastic of your chosen plug a little to make it fit, as all the plugs are different.

Above the red plug in the above pic is a spare pin which is live only with the ignition on. Can you tell me the amperage of its fuse and what it's for?

This will be pin F, and is supplied from fuse 10. Fuse 10 feeds various things like instruments, unloader relays and reverse lights; is wired with light duty cable, and fused at 7.5A.
What's wrong with the fuse 16 pin?

I used fuse 16 as recommended, but noticed the other spare accessory pin and wondered what it was for as it had nothing connected.
